Dr. Burk is a primary eye physician with a doctorate in Optometric Medicine from Indiana University School of Optometry.
She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology, also from Indiana University. While in school for her doctorate, Dr. Burk completed many externships focusing on the fitting of contact lenses, low vision augmentation, pediatrics, ocular disease, and glaucoma management.
Dr. Burk has volunteered with multiple organizations, including the Indiana Junior Olympics and Special Olympics, where she provided free vision screenings to the athletes. She also participated with Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, providing free eye exams to the underprivileged in Guanajuato, Mexico.
Patients know Dr. Burk for being a very thorough doctor with a friendly bedside manner.
Dr. Burk is new to San Diego and has launched her career with Morris Eye Group. Her future husband flies helicopters for the U.S. Marine Corps and is stationed at Camp Pendleton. On weekends they enjoy the beach, walking their dogs, Quinn and Jersey, and spending time with each other.
